United Nations Office for Human Rights (OHCHR) stated that the US-backed Saudi-led coalition kills an average of 100 Yemeni civilians every month, mostly by air strikes and shelling.

The OHCHR said in a statement published on Friday to mark the second anniversary of the war waged by the 10-country Saudi-led coalition against Yemen, which is entering its third year next Sunday, that 4773 civilians were killed and 8272 civilians wounded by the Saudi air raids and shelling carried out by the forces of the Saudi kingdom.

The statement said, “among the latest victims were 32 Somali refugees, killed by bombardment of a Saudi Apache helicopter on a boat off the coast of Yemen about a week ago, while ten others are still missing. In addition, a Yemeni civilian was killed by shelling from a Saudi warship.”
