Iraqi General Says Mosul to Be Freed from ISIL by End of Spring

The operation to free  the northern Iraqi city of Mosul from ISIL Takfiri will be fullfiled  by the end of spring, Iraqi general said.

Brig. Gen. Shaker Alwan Khafaji, one of the Iraqi Federal Police heads, told Sputnik that Mosul’s freedom  from the Takfiri terrorists will need weeks.

“The IS currently controls 25-30 percent of western Mosul’s territory. We continue to free  new districts.”

“Mosul’s freedom  will need  weeks. This spring you will hear the news [of Mosul’s freedom ],” Khafaji said.
