The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) and National Defense Forces (NDF), carried out a new attack in the East Ghouta region of Damascus on Saturday, aiming at the defenses of the rebels east of Douma.
Led by their 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies targeted Jaysh Al-Islam’s (Army of Islam) positions at the small village of Hawsh Al-Dawahirah, leading to a series of intense clashes on Saturday afternoon.
According to local activists, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies successfully captured a local grammar school that was turned into a militant base and a nearby checkpoint.
With their forces besieging the Al-Qaboun area, the Syrian Arab Army is trying to put heavy pressure on the rebels in eastern Damascus by attacking new points in the East Ghouta.
