Considerable reinforcements have poured into the northern Hama countryside as the Syrian Army promised to recapture all territories lost to rebel groups recently.
The reinforcements include tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, MLRD rocket launchers and a significant number of the Army’s troops who have been fighting Daesh in east Aleppo countryside.
According to a military source, the military campaign against the rebel groups in northern Hama aims at not only restoring the villages and towns recently seized by the Daesh militants during their latest attack, but also recapturing new areas under the insurgents’ control in order to prevent potential attacks in the future.
An alliance of extremist groups – led by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (formerly Jabhet Al-Nusra) – waged a massive assault on government positions in northern Hama, taking over large swathes of land.
