Ecuador: US Attack on Syria Is a Clear Violation of a UN Member State’s Soverienghty

The Ecuadorian government denounced the latest US attack on Syria, affirming that this military intervention is a clear violation of the sovereignty of a member state of the United Nations.

In an official statement issued by the Ecuadorian Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Ecuador government expressed its constant commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the international law, and it calls for a political solution to solve the crisis in Syria. Ecuador also demands the rapid ending of the suffering of the Syrian people that has been ongoing for more than six years.

The statement said that the Ecuadorian government condemned the use of chemical weapons, requesting an investigation into the incident that took place in Khan Sheikhoun in Idleb countryside.
