The campaign of the security authorities against the Shiite majority in Bahrain is increasing, with more arbitrary measures against them, under vague pretexts, and this is what the people of Hamad City have been suffering from lately.
According to what was circulated, the authorities summoned four days ago Shiite clerics who the officer Turki Al Majid told (Sheikh Ali Rahma, Sheikh Ali al-Jafairi, Sheikh Hussein Marzouk and Sheikh Mohammed Sayyad) that the memorial of the Shiite head Mohammed Baqir al-Sadr “is forbidden by higher orders.”
But the summoned people protested against these orders however,
Al-Majid replied that al-Sadr was not a Bahraini figure. They replied that Saddam was not a Bahraini figure but is constantly being mourned. Al-Majid refused to listen to them and forced them to sign a pledge to release them.
These escalation, in a new official policy pursued by the authorities since June 2016, targeted Shiite clerics, specifically after the demise of the spiritual leader of the Shiite majority, Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qasim.
Since June, the authorities have summoned dozens of Shiite clerics and arrested several of them on charges of gathering and inciting hatred of the regime.
