A military clash broke out in the Khor Maksar district of Aden on Thursday, with armed recruits from the so-called Southern Movement and followers of the 39th Armored Brigade.
The clashes erupted after a demonstration of thousands of supporters of the movement, during which they rejected the legitimacy of the ousted Saudi-backed president, Hadi, local source reported to YemenExtra.
The Southern Movement changed its views on Hadi’s legitimacy after he sacked a governor named Aydarus al-Zubaydi, who is backed by UAE.
As a response, tensions are also escalating between Hadi and the UAE, separating the movement into pro-Hadis and anti-Hadis depending on his mentioned decision.
Engagements among the two parties resulted in the stampede of the demonstrators from the incident’s arena.
Moreover, the sources did not indicate what caused the clashes until this very moment.
Aden has been witnessing a security chaos and a state of insecurity due to tensions between forces loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.
