The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), alongside the Arab Nationalist Guard and National Defense Forces (NDF), made successfully made massive advance in the strategic Al-Qaboun District of east Damascus, local source reported.
Led by their 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division and 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army took control of many buildings in Al-Qaboun’s eastern sector, killing and wounding a large number of Daesh rebels from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.
In addition to their advance in east Al-Qaboun, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies were also capable of unearthing a rebel tunnel in the southeastern sector of the district.
A group of Daesh rebels were trapped inside this tunnel and were ordered by the Syrian Arab Army to surrender. However, they refused to do so resulting in the SAA destroying the tunnel, according to the local source.
The Syrian Arab Army’s High Command has once again offered to transfer the rebels to Idlib in exchange for their surrendering of Al-Qaboun. The deal is expected to be implemented since Daesh rebels have lost too much ground.
