Yemenis Organize a Tweets Campaign for the Most Alien-Looking Place on Earth: Socotra

The Yemeni island of Socotra has been considered to be one of the most bizarre and alien-looking places on earth.

Recently during the ongoing conflict in Yemen, the UAE decided to lease Socotra from the Saudi-backed ousted Yemeni president, Hadi, for nearly a hundred years.

The Yemeni people and a number of foreign activists responded by creating a tweets campaign to reach the world on the popular social network.

The campaign is to begin today Saturday, May 6th, at 8:00 pm, Sana’a time.

The tweets bank containing “ready to post” tweets will be available as soon as the incident starts for those interested in participating.
