Ansar Allah Spokesman: Formation of a Southern Political Council Clarifies U.S. Occupational Objectives

The official spokesman of Ansar Allah, Mohammed Abdul Salam, stated on Thursday that the formation of a political council in the south is a manifestation of the American occupational objectives entrusted to be implemented by the UAE.

Abdul Salam said on his Facebook page that “what is happening in the south regarding the political council is a manifestation of the American occupational objectives entrusted by the UAE to implement and establish small projects; thinking that the South is suitable to build a colonial and imperialist state, and that is an illusion that will soon be unfolded.”

He also warned of what is taking place in southern Yemen, considering it a threat to the Yemeni unity serving the agendas of imperialism and the Saudi-led coalition under the coverage of “returning legitimacy.”

“The developments in the southern arena is another proof provided by the US, UAE and all the forces participating in the coalition that they are the “rebels” for rejecting the will of the Yemeni people, owners of the land and the matter”, he confirmed.

Abdul Salam affirmed that the new imperialist attempts will eventually be eliminated and would be vanished just like the British and Ottoman occupations.

Concluding his statement, he stressed that the Yemeni people will remain as one and united, and do have the right to combat any imperialist actions whether it is in the north or the south.

Earlier, Maj. Gen. Aidarous al-Zubaidi, who has fallen out with Saudi-backed Hadi but is supported by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), formed the new “transitional political council of the south” on Thursday.

The new council consists of 26 members, including the governors of five southern provinces and two Hadi ministers.
