The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their Al-Qaboun offensive on Wednesday after the Daesh rebel forces inside the district rejected to surrender their final positions to the government.
Led by the 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army was capable of capturing 27 buildings from the rebels in Al-Qaboun, yesterday, paving the way for their major advance on Thursday afternoon.
The Syrian Arab Army liberated most of the building blocks in the eastern sector of Al-Qaboun, killing and injuring several Daesh rebels in the process of this achievement, local source reported.
With most of eastern Al-Qaboun under their control, the Syrian Arab Army is on the brink of splitting the whole district into two separate swaths; if this happens, the rebels will have no option but to surrender.
