On Friday, a number of Syrian journalists were severely wounded by an Daesh attack in eastern Homs and immediately transferred to a field hospital for urgent treatment alongside other injured government troops.
The guided anti-tank missile scored a direct hit on a National Defence Forces (NDF) convoy, effacing a forward technical and killing a NDF commander on the spot.
A few meters behind the NDF vehicle was another vehicle full of Syrian journalists who were blasted with shrapnel from the missile upon impact.
In the aftermath of the attack, the journalists were bloodied but reportedly are in stable condition. The incident occurred near a newly liberated hill in eastern Homs.
Daesh often targets front-line journalists intentionally, claiming them to be propaganda mouthpieces for forces opposed to the self-declared caliphate.
