Red Cross Visits Al-Mahweet Province due to Cholera Outbreak

The head of the health department of the Red Cross International Committee (ICRC), Deby Marie, visited Al-Mahweet this morning and met with the local authority’s leadership, directors of the health office and the Republican Hospital to observe the health situation affected by the Cholera epidemic.

The representative of the Cross toured the isolated section and monitored the many patients of Cholera.

During her hospital visit, the director fully explained the deteriorating situation of Cholera as numbers reached 11,000 suspicion Cholera cases.

He also mentioned the hardships faced by the hospital and many hospitals in Yemen due to the current siege imposed by the US-backed Saudi coalition.

“We are suffering the lack of medical equipment and supplies”, he spoke to Marie.

For her part, she concluded the visitation by promising the assistance of the ICRC to fight the epidemic.
