The Iraqi Popular Forces Liberate a Number of Villages and Are about to Encircle Kairouan

Popular forces, on Monday, liberated the village of “Southern Khazna” south of Kairouan after clashes with members of “Daesh”,backed by Saudi.

“People’s Liberation Forces liberated the southern village of Khazna south of Kairouan after clashes with Da’esh,” , backed by Saudi, the mass media said in a statement..

The Popular Forces announced the continuation of their operation for the second day in a row aimed at liberating Kairouan and the surrounding villages west of Mosul near the Syrian border.

The command of the crowd said in a statement that its forces reached the outskirts of the center of Kairouan, 3 km, in the process of isolation and encirclement of three directions: north of Sinjar , east of Tal Afar, south and west of the Ba’aj.

The leadership added that the biggest achievement of the forces  was the liberation of the village of Khneisi, north of Kairouan, which was considered the most important points of the organization of “Da’esh” ,backed by Saudi, in addition to the liberation and controlling  the road of  “Kairouan-Alaj” south, and the road of  “Kairouan-Sinjar” north.

In the context, the command announced the liberation of the following villages since the beginning of the operation: Tal Ezzo, Mohammed Zaid, Hazeel, Tal Banat, Tal Hateem, Khneisi, Umm Hajara, Mughir al-Abd, Amlita village, Ammash and Um Hajjar.

The  statement of the leadership of the forces stated  that the losses of “Daesh”,backed by Saudi, included targeting the organization’s gatherings inside the villages of northern Kairouan , the achievement of direct casualties there, the destruction of two vehicles on the road linking Kairouan and Al-A’aj by air flight, and the destruction of an armored vehicle and the killing of those south of Kairouan, in addition to finding mechanisms and stores of equipment and missile pads during clearance operation.

On the other hand, the leadership of the forces in Iraq launched the operation of “Muhammad is the prophet of  Allah II” to liberate the far west of Tal Afar district in the province of Nineveh,up to the Syrian border with air support by the Iraqi army..

These efforts came in coincide  with the battles carried out by the joint Iraqi forces to liberate all the territory of the city of Mosul and around from the  control of “Daesh” ,backed by Saudi.

For its part, the federal police forces of the Iraqi Interior Ministryconfirmed regaining control of 50 percent of the neighborhoods of “economists” and “Tamooz 17” in the north (west) coast of Mosul.

The Iraqi forces were able to regain control of the east coast of the city in last January, and are currently fighting to grab the other coast, confirming that  it has liberated about 90% of the entire Mosul.
