‘Trump swallowed all pre-election promises’: Assad

US President Donald Trump “swallowed” all the pre-election promises, made during the election campaign, Syrian President Bashar Assad spoke to India’s WION television broadcaster in an interview released on Saturday.

“Trump’s election has proven again for us that the president is only a performer. He is not a decision maker… Trump, after he became president, has swallowed most of his promises and the words that he was boasting during his campaign. He made a 180 turn in nearly every promise,” Assad stated.

At the same time, Assad did not mention accurate promises, which were allegedly changed.

On November 8, 2016, then Republican nominee Trump won against his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the American  presidential election.

During the election campaign, Trump mentioned that the fight against Daesh would be a major issue during his presidency, however; he has made his first trip as a president to the Saudi Kingdom, a country well known for producing terrorist ideologies and depriving women from their rights.
