Iraqi forces free important town near the Syrian border

The pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) imposed full control over the strategic town of Ba’aj, Sunday, after a four day long operations against “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia.

The Popular Mobilization Units were able to take full control of Ba’aj, following “Daesh” group’s failure to repulse the PMU’s advance at both the southern and northern flanks.

With Ba’aj under their control, the Iraqi Armed Forces have secured the southern flank of the Sinjar area, which was once occupied by the “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia.

The Iraqi Armed Forces will continue to push south along the Syrian border, as they attempt cutoff “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia, last supply lines from Syria’s Deir Ezzor governorate.
