A Yemeni military source confirmed on Thursday night that a Saudi reconnaissance plane was shot down in the Medi bordering area.
The fall of the reconnaissance aircraft functioning in favor of the Saudi-led coalition occurred just hours after the announcement of a Saudi F-16 aircraft downed northeast of the capital Sana’a with a guided surface-to-air projectile.
Adding to the surprising military achievements, the Yemeni army spokesman, Colonel Aziz Rashid, said that the air defense unit is gradually neutralizing the air force from the skies of the country.
Aziz spoke today about the recent military advances, and said that “The operation of hitting a warplane using a guided missile is considered to be the third, where two other F15 warplanes had faced the same fate over bordering Najran.”
He confirmed that the Yemeni capabilities are to furthermore progress with its local efforts to eventually neutralize the warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition.
The reconnaissance plane dropped today is the second during this week only, whereas the Air Defense downed another over Taiz province earlier this week.
