Iraqi Forces Free Important Crossing into Syria

The pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) freed the Safouk Border-Crossing into the Syrian province of Al-Hasakah.

The PMU managed to wrestle control over the Safouk Crossing after launching a surprise assault, tonight, from the recently freed town of Ba’aj, eastern  the Syrian border.

The Safouk Crossing was an important position over the Syrian border that “Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia, used to support their fighters in the Al-Raqqa, Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Hasakah governorates.

An addition Safouk under their control, the Iraqi Armed Forces are quickly advancing toward “Daesh”s , backed by Saudi Arabia , most important border-crossing at Al-Qa’im, which is directly eastern Syria’s Deir Ezzor governorate.
