On Wednesday a person working for Daesh media wing Amaq News was arrested in Germany, after the federal courts investigative judge had issued a warrant for the suspect on May 25. The arrest was announced yesterday by the federal prosecutors bureau, which also said, that the 23 years old man from Syria got into Germany in September 2015 as a refugee.

In Germany the man named ‘Mohammed G.’ acted as a contact person for Amaq news agency to factual or potential perpetrators of terrorist attacks in the name of Daesh. He served as conduit in 2016, when Amaq new agency requested a personal confession, of a man, who later was arrested in Sweden, due to an arson attack against a Shiite community center on October 11.

Amaq was unwilling to release an article claiming the attack for Daesh without confirmation. With the perpetrators confession, the story was published and in consequence Daesh officially claimed the attack in its al-Naba newspaper.

Moreover, he was also captured for spreading Daesh propaganda in several chat groups. The arrest in Rietberg, North Rhine-Westphalia is just the latest in a row of terrorism connected investigations.

Three weeks ago 5 others were arrested in Berlin and Essen, for links to Daesh groups and planning a terror attack, whereas next Tuesday 3 men will face court in Hamburg because of their Daesh membership.
