Protests against the Saudi- Led Coalition War Crimes in Yemen Flares up in US

Hundreds of people demonstrated in the US in protest against the United States financial and military support for Saudi Arabia.
The protesters believe these supports will lead to massacres in Yemen caused by the Saudi monarchy. The protesters who were from different cities of Minnesota state slammed Trump for his aggressive policies towards the war-stricken countries of the Middle East.

Protesters held Placards saying “Stop US/Saudi War on Yemen.” They believed the US is responsible for the massive civilian causalities in Yemen. The protester also shouted and held Placards reading“No U.S. weapons sales to Saudi Arabia.” This was a reaction to the recent arms deal between the United States and Saudi Arabia costing billions of dollars.

Another Placard also read “$54 Billion for diplomacy not war.” The protest continued for hours while the protesters refrained from violence. Police forces controlled and supervised the whole process of protests in case a group of the protesters resort to violence.

In his first foreign travel, Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia during which the terms of a billion-dollar arms deal were agreed by the two sides. The deal is supposed to be exceeding billions of dollars with the first part being $110 billion. THAAD base and advance artilleries are some of the arms contained in the deal.

Trump’s military support for Saudi Arabia occurs while according to the international organizations, Saudis have been committing multiple war crimes and civilian massacres in Yemen war. Obama administration halted arms sale to Saudi Arabia due to the acknowledged war felonies against Yemenis by Saudi Arabia.
