A while ago, Iranian state media quoted Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying Daesh leader Abu Bakrh Al-Baghdadi was “definitely dead”.
A representative of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards supported the statement, but Ali Shirazi did not wish to go in detail on the claim.
On June 17, the Syrian and Russian government also claimed Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was killed by an air raid in Syria.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi and US state departments said they had no knowledge regarding his death.
The secretive Daesh leader has frequently been reported killed or wounded since he declared a caliphate to rule over all Muslims from a certain mosque in Mosul in the year of 2014, after his fighters seized large regions of northern Iraq.
