The US-led coalition will set up a new military base for the FSA-affiliated Maghawir al-Thawra group in al-Shaddadi town, northeastern Syria, the political adviser of FSA, Abu Yacoub, stated.
According to the adviser, the goal of this new garrison is to deploy the US-backed fighters who will eventually try to capture the ISIS-held Deir Ezzor city.
Nearly 150 fully-equipped fighters will be deployed to the to be formed base.
Al-Shaddadi – the oil-rich region located to the south of Hasakah – will be the third US-established base in the war-torn country after creating two bases in al-Tand and Zukuf along the Syrian-Iraqi borders.
In a similar context, the FSA media spokesman, Saeed Seif, mentioned that the US military wants to set up the new base for being unsatisfied by the results achieved by the predominantly-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces in fighting against ISIS in the north.”
However, the US has also been accused of supporting rebels that conduct terrorist activities targeting both the Syrian Arab Army and innocent civilians.
Speaking of the US intervention, the US resulted in a total of a million killed Iraqi civilians in its claimed to be a war on terrorism.
