At least 224 civilians were killed by US-coalition airstrikes since the predominantly-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces got into the ISIS-controlled Raqqa in northern Syrian approximately a month ago.

“At least 224 civilians, including 38 children and 28 women, have been killed in air strikes by the global coalition on Raqa since the SDF entered it,” the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The US-backed Kurdish forces are waging a full-scale offensive in an attempt to recapture ISIS’s de-facto capital of Raqqa.

Civilians who were able to flee Raqqa reported that besides the ones who have been killed in coalition airstrikes, ISIS snipers have also killed several others of civilians trying to escape the raging battles and indiscriminate bombardment.
