Despite its crimes in Yemen, Saudi gets Arms from Russia worth 3.5 Billion Dollars

Saudi Arabia has not only revived US and British arms markets, it is world’s largest importer of weapons in Middle East and the world, and its leadership of an unprecedented arms race in the Arab region in general and in Gulf in particular, by signing armaments less than two months ago with the US $ 350 billion but it is also taking into account the Russian Arms market and is willing to empty whatever remains in its treasury in exchange for the purchase of the latest Russian weapons.

Russian and Saudi Arabia signed an initial agreement in the military technical cooperation field worth 3.5 billion dollars, noting the existence of Saudi conditions for its implementation, said Chimezov, the head of the State-Owned  Rostek, which specializes in the manufacture and export of high-tech products, including military products.

Sergey Chimezov said on Monday that in the framework of the new round of talks we have reached a preliminary agreement worth 3.5 billion dollars, but the Saudis have stipulated the entry into force by providing them with the techniques and manufacturing on the land of kingdom.

He added that we are now thinking about what can we suggest them and the simplest solution is that it wanted a factory to produce light weapons, such as Kalashnikov rifles.

The Saudi Arabian kingdom is rapidly moving among the highest arms purchaser in the world which has increased in past decade by about 50%, ranking first in the world as the largest arms buyer.
