Eight armed men attacked the National Bank in the Mansoura district located in the Saudi-controlled coastal governorate of Aden, southern Yemen.

The recruits seized large amounts of money amid intense gunfire that resulted in the injury of four of the Bank’s employees, including the manager, whom are currently in a critical condition.

A number of the attackers fired a barrage of bullets at the bank building in Abdul Aziz Abdel Wali area based in Al Mansoura district, causing the injury of the manager and three guards prior to the raid and theft of money.

Initial information indicates that the gunmen tried to loot money from the bank, but the treasury employee refused to cooperate, and they opened fire to intimidate him, leading to his injury.

The second wounded member of the Bank’s guards pointed out that a security force arrived at the bank before the gang could loot money, according to local sources.

Other sources report that the gang plundered money from staff working to deposit cash and check payments, but did not specify the amounts of money pillaged.

Moreover, activists on social networking sites posted pictures of surveillance cameras that were said to be the gunmen during the robbery of the National Bank.

The city of Aden, under the authority of the Saudi regime and its allies, is in a state of chaos and great insecurity, where a number of banks have been robbed during the past period, while many assassinations and bombings also took place.
