Criminal Cell Detained for Helping the Saudi-Led Coalition Occupy Hodeidah

The Yemeni security services in Saffan district, Sana’a governorate, detected and detained criminal cells recruited by the Saudi-led coalition to destabilize security and stability in order to facilitate the occupation of coastal Hodeidah governorate, western Yemen.

A security source told the Yemeni news agency, SABA, that the cells had been charged by the coalition to cut the road between Sana’a and Hodeidah provinces in order to cause disruption in the main road, which is considered the vital artery of the capital Sana’a.

The sources also pointed out that these elements formed sleeper cells to destabilize security, stability and public tranquility, indicating that the forces of coalition requested the cells to start implementing their criminal plan and cut the road in parallel with the coalition’s movements in the west coast front, especially in the province of Hodeidah; thereby facilitating the passage of Saudi paid-militia as they combat the Yemeni joint forces and capable of applying ambushes.

The elements are involved in providing the coalition with information and monitoring of important positions and bridges for the coalition to bomb as it has already done, security source added.

In addition, security services seized a large quantity of light weapons, medium and miscellaneous ammunition with the criminal elements supplied by the Saudi-led coalition.

“This operation is also a message to the forces of aggression that their subversive projects will not be tolerated by the Yemeni security and the popular committees who constitute a security front to combat the aggression’s schemes in all its forms,” said one of the security men.

Furthermore, Yemeni securities disclosed the seized weapons, which included 20 different FN rifles and a Russian machine, 29 RPGs with eight charges, 17 machine-gun rounds, 82 mortar, B-10 and other equipment.

The source praised the cooperation of citizens, considering it as a real guarantee for the unity and cohesion of the home front and the maintenance of security and stability.
