The leader of the Supreme Political Council, Saleh al-Samad, visited on Friday the recently bombed island of Kamran by the Saudi-led coalition in the province of Hodeidah. He was accompanied by the Minister of Defense Maj. Gen. Mohammed Nasser Al-Atfi and the Chief of General Staff, General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari.
The Yemeni president of the Supreme Political Council inspected the conditions of the citizens of the island as they suffered permanent targeting of the island by the Saudi-led coalition, including its infrastructure, vital facilities, tourist resorts, and agitating a humanitarian crisis.
Al-Samad toured the island and its sites, aware of the devastation caused by the coalition’s air campaigns using US and British munitions.
In a similar context, Al-Sammad, during a field trip yesterday, inaugurated Kamran Hospital to serve a number of districts in coastal Hodeidah governorate. He also inspected the patients receiving health care due to the cholera epidemic.
Moreover, he observed the efforts of the hospital’s staff and officials in establishing prevention campaigns in the various districts of the governorate.
