The Saudi National Committee for Missing and Detained Affairs revealed that a Saudi officer impeded five exchanges of 70 prisoners between the Yemeni joint army and armed factions affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition in the governorates of Marib and Al-Jawf.
The head of the committee, Abdul Qader al-Murtada, said in a Facebook post on the committee’s page, Friday, that “there are five exchanges of 70 prisoners from both parties agreed upon with some factions of the coalition in Marib and Al-Jawf two weeks ago.”
The Chairman of the Committee also stressed that the exchange of prisoners is still pending waiting for the signing of the one Saudi officer for approval to allow the completion of exchanges.
He added that this reveals that “the countries of aggression are the ones in control of all matters regarding its mercenaries and they are the the biggest obstacle in the face of the prisoner exchange.”
In his above words he’s referring to the fact that the Saudi-led coalition does not give any rights to it’s mercenaries, including the freedom of choice if it serves their interests.
