A number of banks and exchange companies in Aden have closed their doors to avoid being robbed by armed robbers and experience a similar crime to the one that took place recently in the National Bank in Mansoura.
An agreement between the banks and exchange companies on the closure decision was taken on the basis of prior understanding and sensing the danger that began to fight them in light of the escalating security chaos witnessed by Saudi-controlled Aden coastal governorate, southern Yemen, local source reported to YemenExtra.
In a letter to the local authority and the security forces appointed by the forces of the coalition, demands emerged demanding an end to the looting and burglary operations that targeted them after they were limited to real estate, land and state buildings.
During the meeting meeting of commercial banks in Aden after the attack on the National Bank .. they decided the following:
– Suspension of work in all banks for three days, which can be extendable, starting from Monday 17/7/2017.
– To stop the enforcement of indemnification between all branches in Aden in the Central Bank.
– Demand to secure banks and arrest armed gangs, otherwise the escalation would continue.
The part of the National Bank in Mansoura was exposed last Thursday to an armed robbery by a gang dressed in military clothing. The operation ended by shooting the bank’s director, Abdullah al-Naqib, who died later on due to serious injuries.
