The parents and sons of the Yemeni prisoners held in the jails of the coalition protested in front of the Red Cross headquarters based in the capital Sana’a on Tuesday, demanding the committee to restore the looted rights of their prisoners in the coalition’s prisons.
The families of the captured prisoners presented a letter to the organization asking it to follow up with the rights of their sons and to hold accountable the violators of their rights and of international laws that were specifically designed for prisoners and detainees.
Parents and sons of the prisoners confirmed during their message that they are completely deprived of the right of communicating with their sons, which is contrary to the laws of families and detention imposed by the United Nations for prisoners and detainees.
The protesters raised their complaints to the organization demanding it to take action and find out where their sons are anonymously being hidden to check up on them regarding their health and psychological conditions and figure how they are being treated in these prisons.
Some of the prisoners who were released informed people with the suffering they and their colleagues encountered, and such exposed practices were denounced by the international community and rejected by human rights organizations.
Last week, the media and human rights organizations launched their campaigns to denounce the UAE after revealing illegal and immoral practices being done towards prisoners and Yemeni detainees in their prisons, which increased the fears of the families of the detainees, leaving them with no option but the Red Cross to search for their children and determine their fate in the coalition’s prisons.
