On Wednesday,”Daesh”, backed by Saudi Arabia, launched two large -scale raids  on both sides of the Iraqi-Syrian border amid a wider bid safeguards”Daesh”-held towns on the Euphrates River from looming army attackes.

After unleashing a large convoy through the desert of Anbar, “Daesh” belligerents pervaded a major Al-Kilo checkpoint based around a bridge northwest of the cross city of Rutbah.

During the offensive, “Daesh” not only held an Iraqi Army checkpoint but also seized a large batch of armaments before setting the area alight and withdrawing back to their initial sites near the Syrian border:

These type of “Daesh” raids are more common in wesstern Anbar than anywhere else in the region.

In the month of July, a total of 16 similar “Daesh” offensives have happened all over Anbar province, according to an Iraqi military source .

With Mosul fully freed , the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) have declared they meant to eject “Daesh” from the entire border and thus, were able to free the major town of Al-Baaj in western Nineveh last month.
