US ship fires warning shots at Iranian Navy in Persian Gulf

A U.S. patrol ship fired warning shots near an Iranian naval vessel in the Persian Gulf, Tuesday, after the Iranian naval vessel approached within 150 yards of the U.S. craft, Pentagon officials claimed on Tuesday.
According to the Pentagon officials, the U.S.S. Thunderbolt fired several warning shots with a near the Iranian vessel after the latter disregarded radio warnings and flares issued by the U.S. ship.
The U.S.S.Thunderbolt was fearful that the two boats would possibly collide in the Persian Gulf, the Pentagon officials continued.
Officials from the Iranian Navy responded to the U.S.’ actions on Tuesday and called them “an unprofessional and provocative move by the US warship.”
