Hezbollah gained over 100 square kilometers of territory during their week long offensive against the Al-Qaeda linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants in the ‘Arsal Barrens, the Lebanese group’s official media wing reported on Saturday.
The Lebanese group’s media wing further added that Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants had less than five percent controlled of the ‘Arsal Barrens before they accepted terms of surrender.
In the upcoming days, the remaining HTS militants and their families are expected to be transferred from the ‘Arsal Barrens to the Idlib Governorate in northern Syria as part of the ceasefire deal with Hezbollah.
With the ‘Arsal Barrens cleared, the Lebanese Army is getting ready to start their long-awaited offensive to clear the Qa’a Barrens and Ba’albak Highlands from ISIL terrorists occupying this territory near the Syrian border.
