The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has surrounded Daesh stronghold of Al-Sukhnah from several different axes, a military source reported.

According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army has successfully surrounded Al-Sukhnah from its western, southwestern, southern, and southeastern axes.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Corps was capable of reaching the western axis of Al-Sukhnah, today, after liberating the strategic mountain of Jabal Tantour, giving them fire control over the western neighborhood of the city.

The Syrian military will likely leave the eastern axis of the city open in order to promote Daesh to withdraw, instead of entrenching themselves for a long siege.
