Iraqi Troops Free Vital Neighborhood in Tal Afar

The Iraqi Armed Forces declared the liberation of the Al-Nour Neighborhood in Tal ‘Afar this afternoon following an intense battle with “Daesh” organization,backed by Saudi Arabia, in northwestern Iraq.

According to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, the operation to that led to the liberation of the Al-Nour Neighborhood, today, was conducted  by the Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi).

On Sunday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider Al-‘Abadi, declared on Iraqi state television that the Iraqi Armed Forces had started the imperative offensive to free the “Daesh” ‘s last stronghold in the Nineveh Governorate.

Since ‘Abadi’s announcement, the Iraqi Armed Forces have freed a large chunk of territory around Tal ‘Afar, compeling the “Daesh” elements,backed by Saudi Arabia, to take refuge inside the city to avert being overrun.
