Last night Syrian government forces waged a surprise attack against Daesh militants in the east Hama pocket where scores of terrorists are now trapped.
According to a military source, Syrian Army troops raided al-Mahsah hilltop based to the north of the Daesh-held Aqirbat and fought fierce battles against the ultraconservative terrorist militants.
With the daybreak, army troops were in full control of the hilltop and had also inflicting considerable casualties upon the terrorist group.
A complicated network of tunnels and trenches used by Daesh fighters were uncovered in the process of the operation.
Having controlled the hilltop, the Syrian forces are inching closer to encircle the strategic town of ‘Uqayribat from three axes.
