Iraqi Troops advance around “Daesh”‘s last Stronghold in Nineveh

The Iraqi Armed Forces have advanced around the rural area surrounding the”Daesh”‘s last stronghold, backed by Saudi Arabia, in the Nineveh Governorate, today, the Federal Police spokesperson reported .
According to the statement issued by the Federal Police, the Iraqi Armed Forces advanced 2 kilometers northwest of Tal ‘Afar after an intense battle with the “Daesh” group, backed by Saudi Arabia.
At least 45 IEDs were dismantled during the operation, it added.
On Sunday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider Al-‘Abadi, declared the operation to free Tal ‘Afar, paving the way for his nation’s forces to raid the”Daesh”‘s last stronghold, backed by Saudi Arabia.
