According to the UN, 6000 thousand children in Yemen have become orphans because of air strikes in which cluster bombs were used as well as dangerous missiles dropped from the sky causing the elimination of these children’s families.

Buthina was not exception.

Many children faced the same destiny and now receive medical treatment in Al-Thoura Hospital and many other hospitals across Yemen. In a village to the south of Sana’a, the capital city of Yemen, a 9-year girl named Alanoud was playing as usual in a neighborhood near her home when she heard a sound of an air strike. With horror she returned to find that building which used to be a home for her whole family destroyed on the heads of its residents.

Two hands belong to her brother and the legs of her mother as well as a head believed to be her father’s head were all that remained of her family! On 25 /08/2017 another disaster happened but this time for Buthina who was sleeping with a toy in her lap. She waked up to find herself surrounded by skulls.

Hardly, she could see with her swelling eyes. What happened? why?!and for what purpose?!! Between her and her family there was huge rubble. With swelling eyes, it was hard for her to find her family.

Memories and long distances of death and life was the only way that kept her from her family! With air full of the smell of her family and neighbors’ blood, she found herself incapable of crying, even memories keep following her but that swelling cheeks can’t cry.
