A number of Yemeni provinces witnessed protests after Friday prayers in solidarity with Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslims and condemning the humanitarian crimes against them.

In the city of Dhamar during the afternoon, several protests were held to display support for the Rohingya whom are forced to endure some of the most atrocious crimes by Buddhist extremists, local source reported to YemenExtra.

The participants in the protests denounced the silence of the world, especially the leaders of the Arab and Islamic countries, on these heinous crimes committed against the Muslims of Burma before the eyes of the international community, which provides coverage to those behind the agony of the Muslim minority in Myanmar.

“The Yemeni people will always support the most vulnerable in the world and will not be silent toward such crimes,” a protest’s statement stressed.

In the province of Hajja, residents of the Beit al-Maghribi in Mahabsha District held a solidarity stand with the Muslims of Burma and strongly condemning the crimes of genocide against them and the complicity of the international community as it remains voiceless toward the humanitarian disaster.

The participants called upon Yemenis and the rest of the world to rapidly take action and put an end to such brutality, expressing that similar crimes are being committed against innocent Yemenis by the Saudi-led coalition.
