The Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider Al-‘Abadi, asked the KRG regime in Erbil give Baghdad full control of the airports and borders in Iraqi Kurdistan, according to Al-Sura News .

‘Abadi warned that if the KRG rejected to abide to this demand, Baghdad will close-off the borders and airspace over Iraq, making it difficult for Iraqi Kurdistan to resume commerce.

The KRG’s leader, Masoud Barzani, has yet to respond to this demand from Baghdad.

The Iraqi Premier’s request comes just 24 hours after the Kurdistan independence referendum.
