Convoys Containing Humanitarian Aid Supplies Arrive to Deir Ezzor

Six humanitarian aid convoy trucks that were supplied from Monastery of Mar Yakub had arrived to the city of Deir Ezzor on Sunday.

The supplies included multiple of food and health packages, water filters, vegetables and wheelchairs.

The Governor of Deir Ezzor, Mohammad Ibrahim Samra met Mother Superior of the Monastery of Mar Yakub, Fadia al-Laham and the delegation accompanied the convoy and talked with them about how to increase the services and humanitarian assistance that are provided by the Convent to the people of the eastern province, recently liberated from ISIS militias.

A Syrian source told YemenExtra that Mother al-Laham said that work is underway, in cooperation with Deir Ezzor governor, to open a pace that will provide meals for up to 5000 families per day, in addition to providing hundreds of job opportunities.

She added that the societal center will open in Deir Ezzor for providing psychological support and empower the individuals’ capabilities to achieve economic recovery in the city.

In addition, She talked about providing two clinic-equipped ambulances to the district, along with employing a group of medics to provide health services for the people in need.
