A violent explosion rocked the district of Al-Masimar in Lahj Province on the night of Wednesday, which is currently under the control of Saudi-paid militias, southern Yemen.

According to media sources affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition, the blast targeted the police station in the District, causing damage to the wall of the center, without reports of casualties.

The sources speculated that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device planted by unknown persons, and exploded near the fence of the police station in Al-Masimar.

Incidents of shooting and bomb attacks on police stations in areas under the control of Saudi-affiliated forces in the province have been frequent while the Yemeni southern provinces undergo an unprecedented security breach.

On Wednesday, unidentified gunmen assassinated a member of the administrative board of the Yemenite Wisdom Society of the Islah Party, whom is also the Assistant Secretary General of the Association of Aden Scholars and Advocates and the imam and preacher of the Mansoura Mosque in the southern province of Aden.
