Iraqi Armed Forces Scare the Kurdish Peshmerga

The Iraqi Armed Forces went on their attacks in the Kirkuk Governorate, Saturday, aiming at the remaining towns controlled by the Kurdish Peshmerga in the eastern part of the province.
Led by their counter-terrorism units, the Iraqi Armed Forces pushed northeast of Kirkuk City, today, in order to reach the provincial border of the Suleimaniyeh Governorate.
The operation is geared to control Shamshamal (var. Chamchamal), which is a town near the Suleimaniyeh Governorate’s provincial border with Kirkuk.

In turn , the Kurdish Peshmerga have started withdrawing their forces from Chamchamal in abid to avoid any conflicts with the government.
