Syrian Arab Army forces operating in southwestern Deir Ezzor Governorate are working over time against Daesh – being neither hindered by bad weather or the hours of darkness – today pushing the terrorist group out of another one of its key strongholds on the western bank of the Euphrates River.
Following their liberation of the town of Makhan yesterday, Syrian pro-government forces have since driven further downstream and now captured after almost a day of clashes the town of Al-Quirriyah.
ISIS had intended to turn Al-Quriyyah into a fortress, but with the speed of the Syrian Army progress, failed to set up sufficient defenses in time.
The advancement by the Syrian Army is being heavily supported by Russian warplanes that, in their own state of frenzy, are smashing with precision strikes every ISIS position, gathering movement spotted on the road between Ash-Sharah and Abu Kamal.
