The Syrian Army began a crucial offensive in the eastern countryside of Hama province early last week.
Despite the fact of the previous offensives that were mainly for cutting off or securing a supply line in this part of Hama, the Syrian Arab Army chief decided to launch an operation to fully expel ISIS linked Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist group from the province.
The Syrian Army’s main target in this kind of offensive is the HTS stronghold of Al-Rahjan.
Al-Rahjan is located on the western side of the Ithriya-Khanasser Highway, which is the Syrian government’s only supply line to the provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate.
Since starting this offensive, the Syrian Arab Army has managed to gain several villages and towns, putting them at the outskirts of Al-Rahjan for the first time in years.
The Syrian Arab Army is now getting ready to attack the close by town of Shakousyah; once its captured, they will begin storming Al-Rahjan.
