Yemeni Minister of Human Rights Visits the Targeted Popular Market in Sa’ada Province

Yemeni Human Rights Minister, Alia Faysal Abdul Latif have been visited the massacre’s of the US-Saudi Coalition in the popular market in Sohar of Sa’ada province, which left dozens of martyrs and wounded.

Minister Alia and the Governor of Sa’ada province,Mohammed Jaber Awad reviewed the nature of the crime committed by the coalition last Wednesday in the market and caused the death and injury of 60 citizens and damaged the property of private citizens and shops.

The Minister of Human Rights with the Monitoring and Documentation Team of the Ministry met with a number of citizens who visited the market almost daily, eyewitnesses and shop owners in the market,they heard their testimonies about the crime .

She reiterated her condemnation of the massacre and all crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition against the Yemeni people since March 2015.

“These massacres committed by the coalition are still repeated on a daily basis in a systematic manner and in the context of a large-scale attack deliberately targeting civilians in their homes, communities, markets, refugee camps, and halls,” Minister said.

“The nature of the crime, the scene of the crime, the hearing of eyewitnesses, the testimonies of the survivors of the raid and the confirmation that the target location is a popular market and there are no military targets justified by the massacre were all justified,” she added.

In this context,Minister Alia considered the massacre of the market in Sohar district, which targeted shopkeepers in the market and daily wage laborers on farms while sleeping is a full-fledged war crime.
