Former Premier League goalkeeper Deonathan Teixeira has died of aged 25, the Premier League club said on Monday.
Teixeira joined the English club in 2014 and joined twice with the first team before joining Moldova’s Sherif Tiraspol.
“Dionathan was very popular in our team and it is hard for us to imagine his death at this early age,” Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes said in a statement.
“We sympathize with his young family and pray for them and for his friends in these difficult times,” Scholes added.
Media said the player died of a heart attack.
