In Hodeidah :10 cases of diphtheria including seven of one family

The General Hospital of al-Thawrah in the province of Hodeidah recorded the first case of death of a suspected diphtheria,security source told YemenExtra on Wednesday.
The deputy head of the body, Dr. Ahmed Maajam said that the child Ahmad Ali Abdullah, a five-year-old from the directorate of Munira died of his illness with diphtheria, which began to appear in a number of districts of the province,the source reported.
As well as,he pointed out that the suspected cases that reached the Commission on Monday and Tuesday amounted to 10 cases, including seven cases of one family.
The source called on all international organizations concerned with health issues in Yemen to act quickly to curb the spread of the epidemic, which is becoming more prevalent in the winter, especially in light of the difficult economic situation and the acute shortage of medicines and medical supplies due to aggression and siege.
