Yemen called on Tuesday for establishing an independent and impartial international commission to investigate into war crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen since March 2015, the Ministry of Human Rights said in a statement seen by YemenExtra.

The ministry called on the United Nations and the Security Council to compel the coalition to cease the ruthless war, lifting the suffocating blockade and working to reach a political solution in order to bring peace to Yemen as it is the only safe bridge to end the conflict in the region.

The ministry also condemned the most recent war crimes against the residents of Hudayda that killed 30+ civilians, including woman and children.
