UN General Secretary has agreed to send the new appointed deputy to Yemen and conduct his first visit to Sanaa to meet Sana’a authorities. The deputy, Sharim, declined to reveal for reporters at Sana’a International Airport topics he would discuss with Sana’a officials.
Ansarullah spokesperson has said they are with peace that can put an end for aggression, lift blockade and preserves Yemeni sovereignty. In a post on his Facebook page, he ended the statement by praising Yemeni army and popular fighters for uniting to fight the Saudi aggression.
On his turn, UN deputy envoy met today with Sana’a Prime Minster Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Habtour and discussed different political issues and humanitarian situation in the country.
On Saturday, Head of Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Al Houthi has declined to meet Sharim, demanding UN to pay public servants the wages; holding it complete responsibility over transferring Central Bank to Aden.
Five years of fighting, hundreds of thousands of people killed, and millions displaced. Despite several rounds of talks to end the conflict in Geneva, Oman and Kuwait, the war continues. But now it seems U.S. and K.S.A, and their back different sides, have agreed on a plan. Sana’a Government seems more strong and pressuring that only missiles and war can end Saudi-led aggressing, that’s why it has decided to rain KSA with ballistic missiles on Friday ahead on UN deputy envoy arrival to Sana’a on Saturday.
People are at shrunk, the optimist might say this is a chance to move towards ending the war, and renewing efforts for a political transition.
However, this visit didn’t call for ceasefire, but if that goes well, political analyst say it may not succeed. The pessimist, though, would say we have been here before too many times.
Yemeni political analyst Hassan Al Haifi commented on the arrival of the assistant UN enjoy saying: “It’s quite clear that United Nations is not looking for a peaceful solution to the bloody war and aggression waged on Yemen. It sends a corrupt UN “Special” Envoy. The only special thing about IOCA is he and his boss M. Bin Salman see no rush in seeking a peaceful end to the war.”
He added in second in three series of tweets “Then it reclusive Ismael Ould Al Cheikh an Assistant UN Envoy, who was previously with his new boss in Lybia and both were hated there by most Lybian officials and NGOs. The Deputy, Maen Shareem or Shureim, also suspected of ties with Mossad of the Zionist State among other things.
“Poor Yemenis can’t even look forward to international attention to their plight. The world is too busy milking the Saudi Cow. Keeping Ould Al-Chiekh despite repeated requests for his removal for his poor performance, notorious bias towards Saudis and incompetence means no peace. “,Al Haifi concluded.
Previous attempts by the UN envoy Ould Cheikh Ahmed had failed to reach a political settlement between the Yemeni rival forces.
